Who's At Risk?
Infants and young children, individuals using low-quality or damaged plastic/tableware, and people with high or repeated exposure are at higher risk from Formaldehyde and Melamine migration.
Symptoms
Exposure to Formaldehyde and Melamine from migration into food may cause irritation of the eyes, nose, and throat, coughing, nausea, and abdominal discomfort; high or prolonged exposure can lead to kidney damage (melamine) and increased cancer risk (formaldehyde).
