Who's At Risk?
Young children, pregnant women, and individuals with liver disease or impaired liver function. People who frequently consume products containing high levels of coumarin, such as certain cinnamon-based foods or supplements, may face increased exposure. Long-term high intake may increase the risk of liver toxicity.
Symptoms
Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headache, abdominal pain, and loss of appetite after significant exposure. High or repeated intake may affect the liver and could lead to elevated liver enzymes or liver damage. In sensitive individuals, prolonged exposure may increase the risk of more serious liver-related complications.
