Update #1: FDA declares that "Tara Flour" is unsafe for consumption following a 2022 foodborne outbreak which left 500+ people sick | Food Recalls & Alerts
500+ people were reported sick across US and Canada in 2022. The illnesses were linked to "Daily Harvest French Lentil + Leek Crumbles" and "Revive Superfoods Mango & Pineapple Smoothies" which contained tara flour and were promptly recalled that year. FDA now declares the ingredient is unsafe for human consumption and banned its use and import in the US. The ingredient was banned in Canada as of late 2023.
