New FDA tests confirmed one of those products is contaminated with Cronobacter. Affected products are sold at some retail stores in Texas and, possibly, additional locations in the U.S
Who's At Risk?
Premature infants, infants under 2 months of age or infants with weakened immune systems.
Symptoms
Cronobacter bacteria can cause severe, life-threatening infections (sepsis) or meningitis. Symptoms may include poor feeding, irritability, temperature changes, jaundice, grunting breaths and abnormal movements. Complications can lead to brain abscess, developmental delays, motor impairments, and death.
