Pastries may have also been sold individually or in smaller packages, with or without a brand label, product name, or best by date. Products were served at catered events and also sold at hotel cafes, bakeries, restaurants & others in 4 states (confirmed so far), and possibly more states. Products were also sold in Canada.
Who's At Risk?
Salmonella mainly impacts young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Most healthy adults and children rarely become seriously ill after exposure to Salmonella.
Symptoms
Symptoms may include fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea (which may be bloody), and abdominal pain. In rare cases, the organism can get into the bloodstream and producing more severe illness such as arterial infections (i.e. infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.
