79 people sick & 21 hospitalized across 7 states to date. 20 million+ brown eggs are recalled. Varieties include organic and cage-free brown eggs sold under 9 brands with sell by dates between Mar 4 - June 19, 2025. Products are sold at various retailers including Walmart, Safeway, Raleys, Save Mart, Lucky, Ralphs & others in 9 states (confirmed) and possibly more. Do not eat, sell, or serve recalled eggs. Investigation ongoing.
Who's At Risk?
Salmonella mainly impacts young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Most healthy adults and children rarely become seriously ill after exposure to Salmonella.
Symptoms
Symptoms may include fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea (which may be bloody), and abdominal pain. In rare cases, the organism can get into the bloodstream and producing more severe illness such as arterial infections (i.e. infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.
