11 people sick and 3 hospitalized across 7 states to date. All lots of product are recalled after 1 lot of moringa leaf powder was linked. Affected products were sold nationwide at Sam’s Club stores and online. Do not eat, sell, or serve recalled products. Investigation is ongoing.
Who's At Risk?
Salmonella mainly impacts young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Most healthy adults and children rarely become seriously ill after exposure to Salmonella.
Symptoms
Symptoms may include fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea (which may be bloody), and abdominal pain. In rare cases, the organism can get into the bloodstream and producing more severe illness such as arterial infections (i.e. infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.
