Brands include Jif, Dole, Tylenol & others (see product images). Products were sold in 3 states. Consumers and retailers who purchased should destroy the affected products immediately.
Who's At Risk?
Young children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems face a higher risk of severe illness. People who handle or consume the products, as well as pets or animals exposed to contaminated food, may also be affected.
Symptoms
Symptoms may include fever, headache, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, which may be bloody. In rare cases, the infection can spread beyond the intestines and cause serious complications such as bloodstream infections, arthritis, or kidney and liver damage.
