9 people (mostly children) sick including 3 hospitalizations and 1 HUS case across 3 states. This update includes 7 additional products. RAW FARM found no pathogens but is recalling raw milk cheddar (shredded and block) linked to an outbreak. Products were sold at Sprouts Farmers Market, H-E-B and possibly other stores nationwide. Investigation is ongoing to determine if more products are linked. Do not eat, sell, or serve recalled products.
Who's At Risk?
Children under 5 years old, older adults and persons with weakened immune systems.
Symptoms
Symptoms include severe stomach cramps, diarrhea, fever, nausea, and/or vomiting. Some infections can cause severe bloody diarrhea and lead to life-threatening conditions, such as a type of kidney failure called hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), or the development of high blood pressure, chronic kidney disease, and neurologic problems.
