E. coli Outbreak
Severity
9 people (mostly children) sick including 3 hospitalizations and 1 HUS case across 3 states. This update adds 7 products along with batch codes and expiration dates. No pathogens have been found in products but RAW FARM continues to protest the epidemiological links. Products were sold at Sprouts Farmers Market, H-E-B and possibly other stores nationwide. Investigation is ongoing to determine if more products are linked. Do not eat, sell, or serve recalled products.
Who's At Risk?
Children under 5 years old, older adults and persons with weakened immune systems.
Symptoms
Symptoms include severe stomach cramps, diarrhea, fever, nausea, and/or vomiting. Some infections can cause severe bloody diarrhea and lead to life-threatening conditions, such as a type of kidney failure called hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), or the development of high blood pressure, chronic kidney disease, and neurologic problems.
