Infant botulism
Severity
4 infants were hospitalized across 3 states between April and May 2026. All lots/batches currently on the market are affected. Products were sold nationwide at Target stores and online via Target.com and Nara.com between July 2025 and June 2026. Although the outbreak is over, recalled powdered infant formula may still be in homes because of its long shelf life. If you still have any recalled Nara Organics infant formula, do not feed it to your infant. Throw it away.

Symptoms
Most infants with infant botulism will initially develop constipation, poor feeding, loss of head control, and difficulty swallowing, which can progress to difficulty breathing and respiratory arrest. If untreated, it can cause a progressive, flaccid paralysis that can lead to breathing difficulties and require weeks of hospitalization.
