E. coli Outbreak
Severity
17 people sick (5 new) and 6 hospitalized (2 new) across 2 states between May 11 and August 2, 2026. Previous recall is now expanded to include 1 additional product, bringing the total to 5 products linked to the outbreak (see the timeline). Affected products were sold at select Walmart stores in 16 states. Do not eat, sell, or serve the recalled products. Investigation is ongoing.
Who's At Risk?
Children under 5 years old, older adults, and persons with weakened immune systems.
Symptoms
Symptoms include severe stomach cramps, diarrhea, fever, nausea, and/or vomiting. Some infections can cause severe bloody diarrhea and lead to life-threatening conditions such as hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), chronic kidney disease, or neurologic problems.
