Salmonella Outbreak
Severity
134 people sick (36 new) and 34 hospitalized (8 new) across 18 states between November 21, 2025, and August 12, 2026. 19 million eggs (white and brown) were recalled so far. Affected eggs were produced in Texas and sold under multiple brand names across 6 states (see images). However, this producer alone does not account for all the illnesses reported across 18 states. Do not eat, sell, or serve recalled products. Outbreak declared over.
Who's At Risk?
Salmonella mainly impacts young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Most healthy adults and children rarely become seriously ill after exposure to Salmonella.
Symptoms
Symptoms may include fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea (which may be bloody), and abdominal pain. Illness usually occurs within 12 to 72 hours after eating contaminated food. In rare cases, the organism can get into the bloodstream resulting in severe illnesses such as arterial infections, endocarditis and arthritis.
