No illnesses have been reported to date. All flavors of Wilcox brand ice cream, yogurt, and ice cream bars, as well as Leonardo’s brand gelato (with specific best by/sell by dates) are being recalled. Products were distributed and sold in VT, NH, MA, and NY.
Who's At Risk?
Pregnant women, young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems. This is because Listeria is more likely to spread beyond their gut to other parts of their body, resulting in a severe condition known as invasive listeriosis.
Symptoms
Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women. Healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea.
