Who's At Risk?
Children, older adults, pregnant women, and individuals with weakened immune systems are at higher risk for severe illness.
Symptoms
Campylobacteriosis causes mild to severe diarrhea, fever, and abdominal pain and cramping. Symptoms typically begin 2 to 5 days after exposure and can last up to a week. In rare cases, it can spread to the bloodstream and cause life threatening infection for those persons with compromised immune systems.
