No illnesses have been reported yet. Recall expanded to 300+ products totaling 12 million pounds to date. Affected brands include Amazon Fresh, Amazon Kitchen, Costco, Dole, HEB, Great Value, KitchenMate, Kroger, Marketside, Meijer, RaceTrac, Raley's, Red's, Taylor Farms, Save Mart, Signature Select, TraderJoe's, 7-Eleven, Wegmans & more. Recalled products are marked with "51205 or P-51205" inside or under the USDA mark of inspection. Products were distributed and sold at various retail locations, restaurants, schools and institutions nationwide.
Who's At Risk?
Pregnant women, young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems. This is because Listeria is more likely to spread beyond their gut to other parts of their body, resulting in a severe condition known as invasive listeriosis.
Symptoms
Listeria infection can cause miscarriages, stillbirths, premature delivery, or life-threatening infection of the newborn in pregnant women. Healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. It can also take up to 10 weeks for some people to have symptoms.
