No illnesses have been reported yet. Affected product is packaged in 10 oz clear plastic clamshells and bears establishment number “P-1644” inside the USDA mark of inspection. Products were sold at Trader Joe’s stores nationwide.
Who's At Risk?
Pregnant women, young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems. This is because Listeria is more likely to spread beyond their gut to other parts of their body, resulting in a severe condition known as invasive listeriosis.
Symptoms
Listeria infection can cause miscarriages, stillbirths, premature delivery, or life-threatening infection of the newborn in pregnant women. Healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. It can also take up to 10 weeks for some people to have symptoms.
